Tutorial 4
This illustration was done entirely in Adobe Illustrator CS2.
Trace
portrait using the "Pen" tool. Trace the light
and shadow parts as well.
Use
the "Eyedropper" tool to pick colors from the
photograph. With those colors create a series of gradation
colors; then apply them to all of those traced shapes
one at a time. You can adjust the gradation using the
"Gradient" tool.
Then
trace the center oval frame of a $1 bill.
Combine
the dog portrait and the oval frame together. Then apply
colors to it.
Put
them together in a square format frame and add some type.
Now, we have a cover for the Top Dog card ready!
